JM Mulet (Denia, Spain, 1973) Graduate in chemistry and Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Valencia. He did a three-year postdoctoral stage at the University of Basel (Switzerland). He works currently as associate professor of biotechnology at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and directs a line of research at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants, a joint center of the Spanish Science Council (CSIC) and the UPV, trying to develop plants tolerant to drought or cold and investigating the regulation of potassium fluxes in the guard cells, with numerous scientific publications, patents and some prize. He is the academic director of the Master in Molecular and Cellular Plant Biotechnology. In parallel to his academic and research work he develops a wide activity as a scientific disseminator. He is the author of the book "Eat without Fear" that has sold more than 20,000 copies and has been published in several countries, "Medicine without deception," "Science in the Shadow" and "GMO without fear". He is also the author of the blog "Tomatoes with genes" ( Writes the section "Science without Fiction" in "El País Semanal", the most read newspaper in Spain and collaborates in several programs of the Cadena SER radio network. Regular speaker on topics related to food or biotechnology and his twitter account with more than 59.000 followers is one of the most populars for a Spanish-speaking active scientist (@jmmulet). His latest book is "What is healthy eating?"
