Cecília Morais has a first degree (honor) in Nutrition Sciences (2002), a specialization course in Consumer Sciences and Nutrition (2008) and a PhD in Food Consumption and Nutrition (2013) by the University of Porto (Portugal).
She started her career as researcher and nutritionist at the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto (FCNAUP) in 2003, and worked at this Faculty as a Technician involved in protocols, continuous education, Alumni and employability, research projects and international relations until 2022. She also worked as Invited Lecturer from 2009 until 2013, and as Invited Assistant Professor from 2013 to 2022 at FCNAUP.
Actually she works as Assistant Professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and is an integrated PhD Researcher at GreenUPorto – Sustainable Agrifood Production Research Center / Inov4Agro.
She is a Nutritionist (Professional Registration Number 0488N) and Specialist in Community Nutrition and Public Health, registered at the Ordem dos Nutricionistas (PT) and member of the ESDN Older Adults from the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) since 2014.
Her research interests are wide-ranging, from community nutrition, public health, food consumption, nutrition education, food planning, school meals, among others, but developed scientific work especially in the area of nutrition in older age. She has published several original papers and book chapters in this area.
