Elisa Keating was born in Porto, Portugal on the 13th November 1977. She had her graduation in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto in 1999 and the PhD degree in Human Biology at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto in 2008. During this route, she received research training in Leeds University, UK, Yale University, USA, and Queen's University, Canada. Since 1999 Elisa Keating was actively enrolled in lecturing Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto. At present she is an Invited Assistant Professor of Biochemistry in this Faculty. She is an author of 18 full papers in international journals with scientific referee, 4 book chapters and several abstracts in conference proceedings. Her research activity is focused on fetal programming of the metabolic syndrome and nutrient transport and metabolism in placenta and cancer.
